Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
