Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
