New information has come to light concerning the untimely passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates citing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
