Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage

Homeowners observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
